6 Reasons To Become A Reiki Master

By Brennan Klompmaker

Since I discovered Reiki over 12 years ago, my life has changed in so many ways, and Gandhi's statement resonates deeply with me.As you walk the Reiki path, and follow the principles of Reiki, you begin to have a much deeper understanding about the meaning and purpose of life.Just for Today is a key message in Reiki, and as you bring yourself to this present moment, you begin to realise that this is all there is! The past has already gone and the future has not been created.
[Reiki Master]

You only have this moment, and it is what you do with this moment that determines your future.Your own life speaks volumes about you and about your thoughts and actions. Is your life happy, peaceful and filled with love and gratitude? Do you see the beauty in nature as you walk in the parks, sit on the beach, and watch the stars? Are you able to sit in silence and peace with yourself?

No, you should only do Master Level if you have a serious desire to learn skills that can change both the world - and YOU!Before I go onto some of these reasons, I'd like to add that learning to attune others to Reiki doesn't necessarily mean doing so in a professional environment. One of the most important things you can do with Reiki is attune your friends and family.Of these, you might pay particular attention to your children (or even nieces, nephews and the like), because just imagine how big an impact Reiki might make to their lives if they learnt it young, if it were second nature to heal with it, if, by the time they are your age, they had already been practising with it for 15, 20, 30 or more years!Reiki ought to be taught in schools; but until it is, you need to fill the gap - a gap made bigger by the age restrictions many Reiki associations place on course participants.Learn to Better Heal Yourself and Others,A lot of Master Level courses are divided up into two parts: A and B. Part A teachesskills to enhance personal practice, part B the teaching components.Whether the course is divided or not (I, personally, teach both parts together), Master Level should supply you with skills you can practise and develop for years to come. Skills that will profoundly shift the way you experience Reiki.

It was rare to notice someone who was totally in the moment and enjoying that moment and what it had to offer.By contrast what did the small children want... to explore, have fun, watch, experience and learn. They were totally in the moment and having the full experience of that moment. There was a moment of enlightenment when in the middle of the hot sunshine, the clouds opened and a tropical rain storm began.everyone ran for cover. It was the conditioned response.

Instead I went onto the beach, lifted my face to the rain and totally enjoyed the moment. It was one of those moments where you feel totally connected with the Universe and know that there is something much larger than "mankind" running the show.Reiki brings a deeper sense of awareness and gratitude. As a Master, I believe students learn more by watching you (and your life), than by listening to you and your words.

Reiki is a word derived from the Japanese language and is very popular in Japan. The word Reiki is divided and both the words mean, god's power and energy which runs life. The founder of this art was called Makao Usui. He had many disciples who learned from him and then passed on the art form to their disciples. The whole point is the master who teaches the art form to his pupils is very important and needs to be respected. The master will mould his pupils in learning this therapy method and he is one who will teach all the techniques and symbols.

"What is a Reiki Master and what does it mean?"The most important thing to remember is that Reiki is a way of living. Mastering Reiki simply means that you are using it to understand yourself more and how you interact with life.It is not a 'Title'; it is simply a way of living.Gandhi beautifully conveyed this message when he said, "My life is My Message".As a Reiki Master your life speaks louder than your lips! Remember this. The 5 principles become a way of life, as well as practicing Reiki on yourself and on others."I only want to teach Reiki - I do not want to take clients"You can only give to others what you have inside. If you decide to teach without actually experiencing Reiki and taking clients - then it simply means you are repeating another's teachings / awareness / truth, without it being your own truth.

The master is the final authority and hence he needs to be proficient in the art. He needs to be a mentor, a teacher and most of all an expert in the therapy methods. He has to attune all his students the art form in such a way that they become an expert very soon. He needs to help the students practice and master the lower levels of the art and only then will he be called a master in true sense.

True Mastery comes when you interact with clients, and in the moment have to make decisions and give advice that makes a difference. I advise students that their real learning begins the moment they take a client who they do not know. It is easy practicing on family and friends... the true learning comes with a walk in client you do not know. You gain awareness about your own ability, your confidence, knowledge, and ability to help others... you also get real life feedback about the Reiki you have given and how it feels.

You also learn that you do not know the answers to all of people's questions / issues / medical conditions... and learn that this is OK. The need to be perfect / always right moves away, and once this happens you move to a new level of awareness and healing ability. So take a step forward on your journey to Mastery, use Reiki on yourself and others, and keep the principles of Reiki in mind at all times. If you are ever in a situation where you are not sure what to do... simply calm yourself down and ask "What would a Master do in this situation..." The answer will come.
