The Wounded Warrior Project Supported by Kermit

By Kermit Carpenter

It is a matter of great pride for Kermit's Key West Key Lime Shoppe to be showing support for the Defending Freedom Warrior Weekend Benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project once again. Complete Parachute Solutions is a company, manufacturing high-tech parachutes, and is based in the home town of Kermit's business office and manufacturing operations, DeLand Florida, - notably, it is the one, which started the event about 7 years ago. One of the best facilities for Skydiving can also be found within the area's limits.

The main idea behind the Warrior Weekend, is to show gratitude to those, who have been injured during the service for the country, by providing them with an unforgettable weekend from April 17-20th. These brave souls will enjoy their treatment for 3 days, but they are definitely going to be enjoying it quite a lot, from the very moment they get off their private motor coach and receive their gift basked from Kermit's Key West Key Lime Shoppe.

The great weekend experience will begin on Thursday, with a barbecue event, and notably - Kermit's Key Lime Pie. Special Forces currently in active duty will be glad to make a tandem jump with the veterans on Friday morning, at the so-called Skydive Boogie. Since we like barbecuing a lot around these parts, there will be a barbecue event once again, where the general public can also come, and the officials of DeLand will greet the Warriors. There is nothing like observing the reactions of warriors, as they reach the ground welcomed by the crowd's cheering.

The Rotary Club of Downtown DeLand and the Mainstreet DeLand Association are the ones hosting Friday evening's event - the Downtown DeLand Block Party. There are a lot of things to be seen that night, especially when it comes to providing fun for the great Warriors, and this will include the great GrillMasters prepared barbecue, which of course makes use of Kermit's barbecue sauces and seasonings, and a lot of cold beer, live music and other entertainment.

On Saturday, a little too early to be reasonable after the enjoyment in Friday, the Wounded Warrior Golf Tournament at Pelican Bay Country Club in Daytona Beach comes. Pretty much each one of the holes during the game will have a silly challenge hooked to it, like shooting a golf ball out of a bazooka, and this aims to make the whole thing all the more fun. Despite the seriousness of the many players, who will attend, the tournament does not aim to be serious in any way.
