Creating A Cute Stuffed Dinosaur

By Odessa Edwards

Creating a stuffed dinosaur out of scratch is probably one of the most fun things that a person who loves arts and crafts can do in his spare time. Now take note that in order to handle fabric, one must always be very careful with details because one slight miscalculation can make everything turn sour. So for those who are interested in this hobby, here are some steps on how to make this thing.

Of course the first step to creating anything from scratch would be to find a reference point so that one has something he can base his creation on. So the best thing to do here would be to search for a template or pattern on how to make dinosaurs. With the technology these days, it is so easy to find templates all over the internet.

The next thing to do would be to go down to the store and shop for some fabric and other materials that can be used in the process. One should decide on which color he would want his plush toy to be whether he wants to make a purple, a green, or a red dinosaur. Also, choose the softness of the fabric that is going to be used but always remember to choose a durable type of fabric so that it does not easily tear.

Now with the use of the template and the chosen fabric, one may now start with the whole sewing process. Of course he may do it in two ways namely the manual way which uses the needle and thread or the easier way which requires a sewing machine. Of course both of these methods will have their own respective advantages and disadvantages. The manual method will be slower but it allows the creator to pay attention to details while the second method will be much faster but does not pay attention to the details.

So now one should begin sewing the fabric together in order to make the dinosaur the sewing process. It is always important to leave a small hole where one can stuff cotton or poly fill. Carefully follow the template so that everything will fall into its proper place and that nothing will go wrong.

Once the whole thing is sewn up, take the stuffing and put it inside the hole. The whole toy should be filled with the stuffing so that it is nice to hug. When that is done, cover up the small hole quickly so that the stuffing does not fall out.

Lastly, check it for any stray holes that were not dealt with earlier while in the sewing process. If there are any holes or small openings, sew them up with a needle and thread so that the stuffing will not come out. If there are any stray threads that are sticking out, cut them out so that they do not show.

So if one is interested in making a stuffed dinosaur, here are the steps to follow. Take note that one must be very meticulous when working with fabric. If he is not, things will not turn out the way he wants.
