The teenager can know exactly what they are not supposed to do and the parents can be comfortable knowing that their kids realize wrong from right. You do not want to keep arguing with your children. Learn to talk to your teenagers because yelling and shouting never works, especially with teenagers.
Be firm and consistent on the consequences of something that the teenager does. You should not let the teenager convince you, especially when you are sure that the behavior of the kid can have dire consequences. If you seem to negotiate with the teenagers, this may mean that the teenager will continue behaving badly.
You need to be in control, but not authoritative. This is because; you have the obligation of making the teenager a better person. You can only do this if you engaged the teenager in reasonable conversations, instead of arguments. Use an advisory tone, instead of shouting and yelling at the teenager. Argument between you and teenagers may make the teens disrespect you.
